Here We Go...Or Not....

If you tuned into The Jazz Disturbance last week, you heard me play a cut from saxophonist Albert Ayler’s Spiritual Unity on ESP-Disk.  It was recorded on July 10, 1964, so last Thursday marked its 50^th anniversary.  Well, ESP-Disk has out TheAlbert Ayler Story, a download-only set of four-CDs of interviews and selected tracks.  Here’s your call to action, folks: get it now as a limited-time specially price present to yourself (and we do like special prices, yes?)

  

On the not-jazz-and-improvisational side of things, I occasionally will refer to one of my favorite online publications, The Root, which gives alternative views and commentary on the Black and African-American community.  You will laugh and you will cry and you will cheer…I mostly laugh and cheer. Take for instance these little brothers who I read about earlier this year….. high five to them now!:

The incredibly absurd will also fall into this blog. Just throw me on a dirt pile when it’s time.  No fuss, no mess, no harm to the environment….
